Children's Ministry - This coming Sunday is our Promotion Sunday! We'll have a time to pray and delight in our Tintern Kids followed by many of them moving up to their new classes for the year.

This coming Wednesday, September 14th our kids classes will be returning from 7-8pm. We have a grade 1 and under class, grades 2-5, grades 6-8 (EPIC), Teen (TRUTH) and adult classes.

Thank you to all of our teachers and helpers who are serving in our Children's Ministry!

Making Space in September - This week over dinner with your family or over coffee with a friend, can you start a conversation about what it could look like to be intentional about leaving space for our neighbours?

A few ideas to get you started
-Can we give up TV for the month?
-Can we have our morning coffee on the front porch?
-Can we give up 1 of our 21 meals each week to have a meal with a neighbour?
-Can we delete our social media apps for the month?
-Can we sign up for the community care food drive?

We would love to hear the creative ways you come up with to make space and activities you plan for time in our community.

Wedding Shower - Julie Walker and Kerri Kennedy invite you to a wedding shower for Emily Whitfield on Sunday September 25th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the building for the ladies. Julie and Kerri are collecting money for a group gift. Here is the link for Emily's registration at The Knot  https://www.theknot.com/us/emily-whitfield-and-benjamin-shore-oct-2022/registry

Book Club - New Book: Where the Light Fell by Phillip Yancey.  Last week we had a great time discussing Shawna Niequist's book I Guess I Haven't Learned That Yet and a few folks wanted us to keep going with another book so here's your chance to get in on another Book Club gathering in November. We are going to be reading and discussing Phillip Yancey's autobiography Where the Light Fell.

You can order this book through Amazon: (https://www.amazon.ca/Where-Light-Fell-Philip-Yancey/dp/0593238508/ref=sr_1_1?crid=10DJSNLYGUSHK&keywords=where+the+light+fell&qid=1662579019&sprefix=where+the+light+fell%2Caps%2C90&sr=8-1) or from our favourite local bookstore Heritage Christian Books (https://heritagecbs.com/)

If you want to learn a little bit about the book you can click here (https://katebowler.com/podcasts/philip-yancey-the-scandal-of-grace/) to hear Kate Bowler interview Phillip as he talks about his life story and his faith journey within the church. If you're interested in being included in our next book discussion reach out to Julie or let Margaret know.  Stay tuned for a date for our book discussion in November.

Be a Good Neighbour - Remember to check in with family, friends and neighbours. Also, local food banks are increasingly in need of food. Watch out for info regarding food drives in your area.

Prayers - We encourage you to check out our website www.tinternchurchofchrist.ca. In the "Prayer Hub" (top right corner, click on the button) is where you will find our list of prayers. You can add prayers as well.
