Prayers - For Tintern's prayer list, check out our website www.tinternchurchofchrist.ca. The "Prayer Hub" button (top right corner or click here) is where you will find our list of prayers. You can also add prayers.

Celebration of the Season - Thank you to the EPIC class, Don and Jeremy for their presentation. Thank you to the Praise Team as well. AND thank you to everyone who brought treats and goodies to share. It was a wonderful time to watch the presentation and socialize and meet babies Charlotte and Walker.

New Year's Devotional - On Sunday December 31st we are looking forward to a brief family friendly devotional where a few from our church family will share testimony of how God has been faithful this year. If you would like to participate please reach out to Noel for details. After the devotional we invite you to stay for coffee. Bring some goodies to share after morning worship.

Congratulations
  1. Madelyn Brielle was born December 16, to Shelby (Ramey), Bren and big sister Isabella Kruckenberg. Another granddaughter for Erin Ramey.
  2. Susan (McIntee) & Paul Downie were married December 16.
2024 Proposed Budget Meeting - Thank you to all who attended. The proposed budget as presented was passed. We would like to increase "our" giving by 5%. If you give via PAD and have decided to increase your amount, please email Margaret and let her know what you would like your change to be. If you are not using PAD but would like to, reach out to Margaret and she can provide you with a paper or digital copy of the document for you to sign. Any questions regarding the budget please contact Bradley Cann or one of the Elders.

Read through the Bible in a Year - Would you like to join a group from Tintern as we read through the Bible in 2024? The Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel is a full-year reading plan that will give you a selection from the Old and New Testament as well as some devotional thoughts. You can share with the group what your thoughts are or just go at your own pace. Once you download the You Version Bible app you can click on the link below and join our group. The plan begins on Jan 1.

Faham Katan Family - Our friends, the Fahan Katans, are going through some very stressful times. Ammar is waiting for a doctor to find the best help for his back, he has been out of work for over 6 months. Raneem has moved to Bethesda, which we hope will be a positive move for her. Samia is looking for work. With Christmas coming we want to help by providing gifts for the kids and perhaps help with groceries. Here are the ages and sizes for the kids: Mohammed (16) Medium men's. Miriam (13) Girls Size 14. Celine (8) Girls size 12. Raneem (23) Ladies xl. Samira (25). Contact Roger Perry or Linda Smith.

Volunteer Help - There are a few things at Tintern that we can use some help with. Sometimes things don't happen simply because no one has volunteered to make that thing happen. One of them is organizing the singing at Linhaven and/or the UM Home and/or Albright. Is there someone who would be willing to plan a time of singing at one of these homes each month? If they could organize/arrange the dates and times (either for several months at a time or even the whole year???) they could let Margaret know the dates and times and then Margaret would be able to put the info in the eBulletin and add it to the Tintern calendar. If this is something you are interested in, speak to Margaret.

Praise Team Binders - Attention Tintern artists. We are in the process of updating the praise team binders and hope to have printed copies available in the new year. We are looking for someone to provide a drawing for the cover page. It needs to be black line art. The lines need to be dark/heavy as we will be scanning and printing the art for the cover page. If you are interested please speak to Noel or Margaret.

Giving More - Tintern used to be really good at bringing in non-perishables for Community Care before Covid. Let's bring it back in 2024! The need is great and getting greater every year  (A report from Feed Ontario released November 23, 2023 indicates the number of people who used Ontario food banks went up 38 per cent last year - the largest single-year increase recorded by the province's food bank network). Each week have everyone in your family bring a non-perishable item to the building. Imagine how many non-perishable items we could collect and donate to Community Care in Beamsville and the Village of Hope in Jordan and GBF in Grimsby and West Lincoln Community Care in Smithville? While out doing your grocery shopping, see what items are on sale and pick some up. Let's make a difference in our community. Donations can be left in the wheelbarrow at the front entrance or in the blue bin at the other entrance.

January Connect Event  - Our Connect Event in January will be on a TUESDAY night instead of a Friday. Tuesday, January 2 from 6-8pm at West Lincoln Arena Community Room #3. The rink will be available for skating from 7-8pm. Please bring a treat to share. Invitations are in your mailbox and attached below as well.

GLCHS Homestay Opportunity - GLCHS has two Japanese High School Students coming to be with us for 9 weeks starting mid-January 2024. We are looking for two separate local homestay hosts that would house and feed these girls. This is a paid opportunity. They will be away for two extended weekends during the 9 week time period. If you are interested in being considered as a host, please contact Please contact jim.whitfield@glchs.ca to express your interest.

Great Lakes Bible College - There is an opportunity to take courses through GLBC at the Tintern building. Classes start January 8. If you are interested go to www.glbc.ca/courses to register. See poster attached for more details or email Judy Judy (Robins) Etienne at judyrobins@glbc.ca.
