Update on Svitlana - It is with mixed emotions that we share with you that Svitlana is moving to Oklahoma. She will live with her “foster family”, Jennifer, Alan and Morgan. She is very excited to have this opportunity, but very sad to leave Canada and all the wonderful relationships she has made. Linda and Marcia will fly to Oklahoma with her on Tuesday March 7th, so it is a very quick turn around. This Sunday March 4th from 4:00-6:00pm we invite you to our home to wish Svitlana well.

Kids Coin Collection - This Sunday is our coin collection. Our kids are going to help collect the money for the kids we are sponsoring. We are sponsoring two children through Christian Relief Fund, Gabriela Jordan (from Piedras Negras, Mexico) and Ambar Gonzales (from Tegucigalpa, Honduras) and also CityKidz in Hamilton. You can also e-transfer money to tinternpayables@gmail.com, in the message box be sure to let us know that the funds are for the kids collection. CityKidz had sent their latest newsletter. A copy is below. A printed copy is posted on the bulletin board near the bathrooms.

Tintern Parenting Workshop - One of the rich blessings a church family can offer each other is the wisdom that comes from experience. In our congregation we are blessed with both young families and parents of young adults and both have blessings to share with each other.

For each of the challenges you are now facing as a parent there may be people in our church family who have faced these difficulties before and now have guidance and perspective to share. In addition, your previous struggle as a parent may now give you an opportunity to share some encouragement to someone who is now just arriving at that stage of life.

To facilitate these fruitful conversations, we are hosting three parenting workshops this spring on timely topics that we believe are of value to parents of teens and preteens. Each workshop will follow the same format.

7:00 pm           Coffee and Refreshment
7:30 pm           Panel Discussion
8:15 pm           Questions Period

After a brief time of refreshment, we will hear from two or three helpful voices before opening the floor to a rich and generative time of questions and reflection.

Fri Mar 17th  Answering Spiritual Questions with Your Children
How do I know if my child is ready to be baptized? What do I do when my kids ask spiritual questions and I don’t have the answers? In this session our panel will talk about practical ways you can be a conversation partner with kids as they develop their own faith rather than attempting to be an answer machine.

Stay tuned for more details on our next workshops:
·Fri Apr 21st  What Do I Do When My Teens and Young Adults Choose a Different Path?
·Fri May 19th  Human Sexuality in the Public Domain

If you have any questions, please contact Noel (noel@tinternchurchofchrist.ca) for more details.
