Prayers - For Tintern's prayer list, check out our website www.tinternchurchofchrist.ca. The "Prayer Hub" button (top right corner or click here) is where you will find our list of prayers. You can also add prayers.
February Connect Event - Our Connect event for February will be a Super Bowl Party on Sunday, February 11th beginning at 6pm. We will be having a chili cookoff, so bring your best chili! Desserts will be provided. Before the game begins at 6:30, everyone will have the chance to use their allotted tokens to place non-monetary bets about the game. We will keep score and announce a winner. There will be a craft table for kids to make Valentine's Day cards along with other crafts. During halftime we will play Minute to Win It games and have a devotional. Our Connect event will end at the end of halftime, but people are welcome to stay to watch the rest of the game.
Movie Marathon - Kids Grade 8 and down and their parents are invited to the building on Sunday, February 18th for a movie marathon beginning at 5pm. There will be pizza and snacks. Bring something cozy to lounge in (i.e. a lawn chair, an air mattress, blankets to lay out) Showtimes are: Madagascar at 5:00pm; Megamind at 6:45; and Shrek at 8:30pm.
Shelter Helps, El Salvador - Please pray for our trip to El Salvador on March 9th, we will be joining Shelter Helps Bethany church to assist in building homes. The Lord willing, by March 15th over 100 people will have a secure dry safe home to live in!! Training for Service - The Strathmore congregation is hosting a Training for Service Day at Great Lakes on Friday March 29 (Good Friday). More details to follow.
Good Friday Evening Service - We are looking forward to hosting a Devotional Service here at Tintern on Good Friday (March 29) at 7pm where we will mark the events of the day and reflect on the spiritual significance of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. The service will begin at 7pm and be about 1 hour long. It is suitable for the whole family. If you have any questions about it feel free to contact Noel.
Tintern Housekeeping Items -
- When you arrive at the building it would be helpful if everyone stomped off any salt/stones/snow/mud onto the mats in the foyers.
- Most (but not all) of the lights at Tintern are on timers. If there is a green (common areas) or red (classrooms) circle stickers on light switches, these are on timers and will turn on when you pass the motion detector/enter a classroom and turn off after 20 minutes. If there are no green or red circle stickers, these lights will need to be turned on/off manually (entry ways, auditorium, kitchen, bathrooms etc.)

Finance Update - Good News! In the first few weeks of 2024 the congregation has generously responded to our challenge to "Give more in 2024!" New donors have been added and approximately 1/3 of our regular donors have increased the amount they are giving. Thanks to everyone who has responded so far.
